Chas and Charity Dingle in double murder shock as Emmerdale rapist is killed

Lydia Dingle, a beloved character on Emmerdale, discovers Charity and Chas Dingle through her investigation into what transpired.

After learning that Craig Reed (Ben Addis) had sexually assaulted his devoted wife Lydia (Karen Blick), ITV viewers surmised that Sam Dingle (James Hooton) would take action.

Craig and Lydia have a long history together and were first drawn to one other at the village that bears their names.

After a few amicable exchanges, though, it was obvious that Craig desired more from a married Lydia.

Enthralled by the energy between them, Lydia realized it was time to gently break up with Craig after they almost shared a kiss.

However, in heartbreaking scenes, Lydia was reduced to a shadow of her former self after Craig violated her without taking “no” for an answer.

When Lydia’s employer, Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle), discovers Craig’s lifeless and bloodied body on the Home Farm estate, things take a deadly turn in scenes that will show next week.

The cleaner discovers that this was an effort at revenge by one of her loved ones rather than the work of a recent murderer in the Dales.

She gathers the Dingles in the Woolpack to obtain the answers she needs, and when Lydia breaks the news that Craig has passed away, everyone is taken aback.

The Dingles begin to speculate as to what might have happened to Craig, but Lydia remains unwavering in her belief that one of them is to blame for his passing.

Knowing that Craig was imprisoned in a distant barn by Sam and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Lydia concentrates her inquiry on finding them.

Lydia starts looking for Craig’s killer after hearing their narrative, which is told to viewers through a sequence of flashbacks.

After questioning Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper), Lydia turns her attention to Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), the next suspect, whose callous and icy actions have upset his own family.

Charity (Emma Atkins) is uncomfortable when Aaron turns the attention to her instead of the Dingles, and he pushes back when they press him for his alibi.

Looking back to the day before, Charity and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) talk about the Craig situation.

Nevertheless, Charity isn’t being truthful about the conversation, so it quickly turns to another topic.

Charity is finding it difficult to move on from her breakup with Paddy Dingle, and Chas is dealing with personal problems as well.

In contrast, the Woolpack landlady was recently in a horrifying vehicle accident alongside her ex-husband Mackenzie Boyd and his fiancée, Chloe Harris.

For a few days, Chloe’s life was in danger, but once her coma broke and she was allowed to leave the hospital, viewers of the drama series from Yorkshire believed she might be exacting retribution.

But would Chas and Charity have teamed up to get even with Lydia for a little period of time?

Next week, one thing is clear in the village: Lydia is keeping a close eye on the Dingles, and they all have something to conceal.

Will they disclose their secrets honestly?

Will Lydia discover Craig’s killer?
