Coronation Street spoilers: David left reeling by two shocking decisions from Audrey

Audrey Roberts, a longtime Coronation Street character played by Sue Nicholls, has had a rough few weeks.

In addition to mourning the passing of her cherished son Stephen (Todd Boyce), who was struck by a car and died at the scene,

Even worse, she now has to accept the fact that her hero, her son, was a multiple killer and con artist.

When Sarah revealed to the Platt family that Stephen had drugged Carla (Alison King) and deceived Audrey, they were astounded.

Sue Nicholls told us as Stephen’s plot came to a head, “She just thinks he has conned her out of her money; she doesn’t know he has killed people.”

“It is incredibly intricate and realistic; you witness these mothers who heedlessly defend their children regardless of their actions.”

“To tell the truth, it seems like she would be pleased if he were to escape and vanish.”

Naturally, that isn’t the case. When Stephen tried to hold Jenny (Sally-Ann Matthews) hostage, he was cornered and driven into the street by Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne), who believed Jenny was in danger.

Audrey must come to terms with the truth that her own brother-in-law defrauded her and put her in serious financial problems, all while learning to live with the guilt that he perpetrated some horrible acts.

After making the decision to return to her area of expertise, David (Jack P. Shepherd) and Max (Paddy Bever) are taken aback when she says she’s returning to work.

She then chooses to sell the barbershop. In this manner, she can recover some security and repurchase her home on Grasmere Drive. She also mentions that she’ll be returning to her job at the salon, which implies that David or Maria (Samia Longchambon) will have to go.

David and Maria, who sincerely care about Audrey’s health in addition to their careers, attempt to talk her out of making this choice.

Audrey shuts the door after becoming weary of their arguments and ushers them out of the salon.

Did she make the right choice? Or do David and Maria have a point when she can’t handle it all?
